In a market like that of industrial automation, where the suppliers are all highly globalized and the companies orient themselves constantly towards the provision of resources in developing countries, the challenge won by OMAL was that of repeating the values that distinguish it – respect, passion and sense of duty – in the emerging markets, adopting logics of Social Innovation that have strengthened its global vision.
OMAL has been recognised as one of the B Corp Best for the World™ in 2022!
B Corp are already known for generating positive environmental and social impact, operating with transparency and a responsibility to balance their results with corporate values. To be Best For The World however, a B Corp's verified score must reach 5% of the world's best in one of the areas of the B Impact Assessment.
OMAL has been recognised for the positive impact generated in the Environment area, and will continue to work with the B Corp community to improve and create value for all its stakeholders.
Also this year OMAL was awarded the "Best for the World 2019" award in the "Environment" category.
In the annual B Corp congress, that look place in Bologna on the 28/11/18, OMAL has been awarded for its commitment to the Environment. In the Benefit Impact Assessment it obtained a score of more than 10 percentage points above the B Corp world average.
OMAL partecipated and won the "Cultura+Impresa" contest, with the "Corporate Art" project. The special mention of Lombardy Region has further confirmed the value of the commitment to make vibrant and significant all discussion opportunities within the company.
OMAL was rewarded for its commitment to a model of responsible entrepreneurship.
OMAL won the first prize in the categories of "Sustainable purchasing practies" and "Multipurpose team purchases", by nominating the projects "OMAL walks the talk in India" and "TVO smart app for operations".
Great results were achieved by OMAL of Brescia, that on 19 May, 2016 at the Unicredit Pavilion of Milan was awarded the first prize in the category of “Ethical and Sustainable Acquisitions" of the Procurement Awards 2016 with the “GREEN-in” project. The competition selected the best practices pursued by their Buying Offices, subdivided into four categories: Best Negotiation practice, Innovation, Team Buying Process, and lastly, Ethics and Sustainability.
For the “Ethics and Sustainability” category, OMAL presented a project implemented in China starting from 2013, aimed at improving the quality of business relationships with a local cast iron supplier, which for three years was supported by the technicians of OMAL in order to improve his quality product and process performance, first of all by training him on the more ecological production methods and in more effective negotiation procedures.
The jury awarded the “courage to support a foreign supplier, overcoming the classic buyer logics ” - oriented exclusively to the minimisation of the price - “implementing an improvement path of industrial processes with evident and proven social and environmental impacts.”
The GREEN-in project falls under the Social Innovation strategy “Walk the Talk” which OMAL has just started to integrate in all its operating units: a long and excellent path for a company that promises and maintains its motto, “Empowered Performance.”
